Very interesting article! I just said aloud the other day “you don’t hear about children getting their appendix taken out anymore”
Years ago (USA) it seemed like we always heard about classmates getting their appendix removed- but I haven’t heard about that in years. So you say it’s still pretty common (USA). They recently discovered that antibiotics is the cure for stomach ulcers so it stands to reason that the same is true for curing a bad appendix.
