Many orgs that start out “pure” and with good intention + a mission statement often devolve over time because leadership changes and those who crave power slip in to the spaces where burned out “real” leaders leave. It seems that this is true for NaNoWrMi - but then I’ve always thought it sus that one can “just” write a novel in a month. I don’t believe that. I wonder who leads the org now. What is their motivation and why are they in power? I don’t agree w you re X. It has some very valuable Spaces for writers with intelligent and thoughtful people hosting - they’re like participatory podcasts for writers.
