I wonder why the major social media outlets don't have teams of people + algorithms to weed out fake accounts. Meta/FB so blantantly doesn't give a F - people's accounts are routinely highjacked - I reported a very widespread video meme that when clicked on causes havoc and they don't respond or do anything. My conclusion: FOLLOW THE MONEY. There is profit to be made from fake accounts and eliminating them will negatively affect Social's bottom line.
