i have a strange memory of cars from the 1970's - people would attach little orange styrofoam balls to the external antennae so that they could "find" their car but everyone did it so it just became a trend or something to do - I remember a huge parking lot full of cars all with little orange sytrofoam balls swaying in the wind. It was a strange time :)
