You should write that article "Let's Throw Archimedes in a Jacuzzi" - Drowning in knowledge :) I read about his preliminary work w the acoustics and deaf community - I beleive his mother was deaf and he wanted to help her. Interesting that he is not looked upon favorably now - back then he was groundbreaking and ahead of his time. Social norms and zeitgeist always change from decade to decade, century to centry.
