Good article! Yes and this is why it's important for authors to be well-read. My writing style was formed years ago when I "took in" William Faulner, Gertrude Stein, T.S. Eliot, all of the Beats (Ginsberg etc) Virginia Woolf...my problem is breaking from poetry prose stream of conscious - I would like to sometimes write more in the style of Hemingway but my associatve brain will usually prevent me. Oh well :)
